I’m reblogging this again because I was trying to cull some old ‘likes’ and I just love how different his expressions are in the two bottom gifs. But then it’s like, it makes perfect sense. When Charming accuses him of only being there because he wants Emma he’s like “Excuse you!” I mean, look at that bottom right gif. He’s a little bit insulted but the accusation also sits a bit uncomfortably. Because this is pre-kiss, and he hasn’t realized yet how completely he’s fallen for her. And he is Captain Hook goddamnit! He only risks his life for two things: love and revenge.

And then you get the bottom left gif, taking place days after the kiss exposed his feelings, days after he had to admit them not only to Emma but also her parents, after he decided to step back and not get in the way of Emma being with Neal if that’s what she wants and Tink confronts him about his motivations, makes the same accusation as Charming. And Hook just kind of looks down and then away because there’s really not much point in denying anything at all anymore. Even if she’s not around to witness his actions, he’d do pretty much anything for her.
